Thai soldiers from Battalion 911 based near Poipet attempted to stop Cambodian soldiers from building their border post in Pallelai-Prey Kup village in Poipet district located on the "K-5" dam built by the Phnom Penh regime in the 1980s.

On September 10, Cambodian border police demolished their rundown border postsand started to build a new border post when they spotted a Thai reconnaissance plane flying over their heads. A few minutes later, they saw a group of Thai soldiers came and tried to stop them from building the border post. But when the Cambodian soldiers show them the map and told them that they are constructing the border on the same spot as the old one, they left the area.

A Cambodian officer based in the area said on 10 September, a group of Thai soldiers came to see him and asked to enter Khmer territories to inspect the construction of the Cambodian border post while his men were raising the border post sign.

The officer said this is not the first time the Thai side tried to stop the Cambodian side from building anything in the area, but he said the area is located in Cambodian territories.
