Mr. Jim Webb (pictured), a U.S senator from the Democratic Party, is to meet Prime Minister Hun Sen at 4 pm today (18th August) as part of his 5-country Asian tour where he had just secured a release of an American from a Burmese jail.
The agenda for the meeting between the pair have not been revealed, but a statement from the U.S embassy in Phnom Penh said that Sen. Webb will hold a press conference at the U.S Embassy after the meeting with Mr. Hun Sen.
Mr. Webb was a former U.S marine serving in Vietnam. He also served in various positions in the navy as well as serving as the U.S Assistant Secretary of Defence. In 1992, he served as a business consultant for U.S companies that want to do business in Vietnam. He had served in a Foreign Affairs Committee since he was elected as a senator in 2007.
