In a speech during a school seminar on 7th July, Prime Minister Hun Sen declared publicly that the government will spend $US600 million to construct roads, schools, hospitals and villages a long the the border areas.
The PM has also said the government is making plans to distribute lands to landless villagers and families of Cambodian border soldiers by embarking on the constructions of villages and developing the areas.
The PM has ordered Agriculture Minister Chan Sarun, Director of Forestry Ty Sakun and Minister of Rural Planning Chea Sophara to draw up the development plans.
