Cambodia on the 9th of June has sent a batch of 18 military personnel to join a multinational military drill in Indonesia, reports Deum Ampil.
According to the newspaper, 16 men and 2 women had been seen off by Gen. Moeung Samphan, Secretary of State of Defence, at the Pochentong Airport at 12 midday.
A government source said that a total of 60 military personnel will be sent to participate in a multinational military exercise in Indonesia which has been codenamed Garuda Shield 2009.
Cambodian defence sources said that Cambodia agreed to join this military exercise because it wants to draw experiences from regional partners as well as involving in regional cooperation.
