Thailand has expressed its unhappiness with Unesco officials who have made official visits to Preah Vihear temple without asking the permission from the Thai government.
Thai officials said that Thailand had warned Unesco many times that it must get permission from Thailand to get access to Preah Vihear temple.
A new Thai warning has been issued on behalf of Thai Foreign Minister Mr. Kasit Piromya on 15th May. It said: "The Thai government had informed Unesco verbally once before about our concerns regarding the entry of Unesco officials to Preah Vihear temple. We will send a letter to Unesco in the near future. We have told Unesco that we need a process that is transparent in their works because Thailand is a member of Unesco and Unesco also had its office in Thailand. If Unesco wish to travel to Preah Viear area, it must respect the sovereignty of Thailand as well and it must also inform Thailand of the purpose of their visit to the Preah Vihear area."
There is no response from Unesco to the Thai warning yet, but the secretary-general of the Cambodian chapter of Unesco committee, Mrs. Tan Theany, said: "In this case, if they (Thailand) talk about Unesco, we will leave it to Unesco to issue a response. But I know that they had already responded. They said that they do not need to enter Thai territories. They only need to access Preah Vihear temple of Cambodia, so they need to work with Cambodia only. So, why do they (Unesco) need to involve Thailand? I just returned from Paris and I have asked them about this issue. They can write a letter, but Unesco will reply in accordance within its framework, this is what I know."
Unesco officials from times to times had travelled to Preah Vihear temple by accessing it from the Cambodian side.

Because of Ah Crazy Hun Xen didn't do anything with UN about this probleme!!!!
I agree. Hun Sen should know from the beginning that Thailand had always intended to stay in Preah Vihear areas permanently, so he should not negotiate with Thailand and instead should ask international community for help. He should not turn down Malaysia's and Indonesia's offer of help. Now it is too late, look like Thailand will try anything to get ownership of the lands they have occupied.
បើអាក្នុងមិនអោយដៃអាក្រៅវាមិនហ៊ានទេ។
