Prime Minister Hun Sen (pictured) said that his ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) represents political stability in Cambodia, reports Radio Free Asia.
In a public speech on Thursday, Mr. Hun Sen said that the CPP has led people to survival and peace. He said: "If the CPP continues to rule the country, the status quo will remain, that is we will have peace and political stability, where everyone can live in co-existence such as the throne, the king and the constitutional monarchy which has been solidly guaranteed. But it is uncertain under other parties. We don't know how they will solve the issues when they take powers."
The Human Right Party disagrees with Mr. Hun Sen's assessments by saying that the current conditions in Cambodia is not good enough.
Mr. Kem Sokha, president of the Human Right Party, said that the Cambodian people want a better government. He said: "In our country we have seen the same leader, the same party (ruling the country), the same ideas, so it is clear that the conditions in the country will be the same or even worse and if the people voted for him again and again, it means that he will keep everything the same. 'The same thing' will be what we've seen everyday such as land-grabbing, territorial violations from foreign countries, corruption, poverty and people having no money to get treatments when they are sick. So, I believe that what he had said was correct, but in a democratic country, the people do not want everything to stay the same, they want things to get better. So, if the people want things to get better, they must elect other leaders who are better than the current leaders. So, I don't believe that the people want things to stay the same. I believe they want things to get better."

political instability can only be caused by the CPP because no other parties have the army to cause instability. Hun Sen has repeatedly said before the 2008 election that if other parties win, Cambodia will plunge to civil war again. It means that he will never surrender powers even if he loses the election.
Hun Sen: The CPP represents political stability in Cambodia?Yeah,Hun Xen has right about this,Stability poor, corrution, land grabing,murder,robber,ganster,mafia,........
We are all khmers, please stand up all!!!
Who will cause instability? Only Hun Sen will, if he loses election.
hun sen will not directly cause instability but some of his loyalties might. and the one that try to discredit him will go beyond instability. they might stir his allies and his loyalties to the point of having a riots and maybe civil war. just think about pol pot. he did not directly order the khmer rouge to kill innocent people but the infiltrators who did the killing( the true enemies). the next leaders should control this kinds of issues before taking office even began.YES HUN SEN SHOULD STEP DOWN AND GET FRESH LEADERS. AND MOVE ON FOR THE BETTER.Y? BECUS ASIA IS GROWING AFTER THIS CRISIS IS OVER.
