Samdech Akka Mohasena Badey Decho Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia

To

His Excellency Kasit Piromya, Foreign Minister of Thailand

I have received your letter dated 1st April 2009, of which you have offered your apology for the use inappropriate language that affects my honour and my dignity which was said during the debate in the parliament of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Cambodian people who elected me to be the leader of the country, as well as myself, are contented and at peace when we received your letter of apology. We believe that our relationships, as well as the relationships between our two countries, will improve at this present time and in the future.

Through your letter to me, as well as through my letter to you, it shows our one common point and that is "it would be better for us to consider each other as friend than as an enemy".

In the meaning of friendship, may I wish Your Excellency and your Excellency's family all the best. I am looking forward to seeing Your Excellency in the next few days at the Asean Summit plus partners at Pattaya in Thailand.

Please accept the assurances of my friendship.

Royal Capital of Phnom Penh, 2nd April 2009.
(signed)
Hun Sen
