The Ministry of Information has said that Miss Kol Davy (pictured), a presenter for the Military TV Station, has lodged a complaint against “Nature” magazine for twice publishing untrue and defamatory information that has damaged her honour and reputation as a decent Khmer women.
The complaint, lodged with the Ministry of Information on 11th February, was to ask the Ministry to take actions against “Nature” magazine for the publication of untrue and defamatory information.
Miss Davy’s complaint was in relation to an article on 19th January- 2nd February under the title “Kol Davy was warned to stop messing around with someone’s husband”.
The article stated that, one woman claimed that Miss Kol Davy was having an affair with her husband who is a government official working in the province. In the article, the woman claimed that her husband had spent a lot of money on Miss Kol Davy. The woman claimed that she has telephoned to warn Miss Davy many times before to stop messing around with her husband, but she still continue the affairs.
In the article, the woman claimed that, if Miss Davy did not end the affairs with her husband, she will go public with the scandals.
Miss Davy claimed that a second article, published by the magazine on the 3rd-17th February had also defamed her. Under the article titled “New story: Kol Davy is one month pregnant and has demanded $70,000 from her lover”, the “Nature” magazine claimed that Miss Kol Davy was strongly warned by the woman a second time that she must terminate the pregnancy immediately and end the affairs with her husband, otherwise she will get into serious troubles.
In a letter of complaint to the Ministry of Information, Miss Kol Davy vehemently denied that she was involved in any love affairs with anyone’s husband whatsoever. She denied that she is one month pregnant as claimed by the “Nature” magazine.
She added that, if the woman in question believed that she had the affairs with her husband, why didn’t she take legal actions against her under the “Monogamy Law”. Why she has to pay money to a little known magazine to publicise the story.
Miss Davy considered the articles published by the “Nature” magazine to have violated the Journalism Act, are unprofessional which have intentionally been designed and fabricated just to destroy her reputation.
Mr. Ry Saray Andeth, publisher of the “Nature” magazine, said that what he has published are all true. He said that he has sufficient documents to substantiate his claims. He added that his magazine never published what is untrue.
He said that he is not afraid to front the courts. He added that, up until now, he has yet to receive any letters from the Ministry of Information summoning him to answer Miss Kol Davy’s complaint.

Man, she looks so hot! It would be a waste if she really loves someone's husband. Plenty single guys, Davy!
Anyway, I don't believe the magazine's article. It claimed to have sufficient proof but didn't reveal them in the article. Very unethical to publish such a baseless story.
