Prime Minister Hun Sen was asked this week to take action by sanctioning government officials whose wrongdoings are exposed in the recent Global Witness report titled "Country For Sale". The request came in the form of a letter from National Assembly members from the opposition Sam Rainsy Party.
According to article 96 of the Constitution, Hun Sen must respond within seven days after receiving the letter. A National Assembly official received the letter to be forwarded to Hun Sen on February 12, 2009.
