On January 7, 1979: the triumph of colonialism Vietnamese

The current perilous situation in Cambodia, both internally and internationally, is the direct consequence of the Vietnamese invasion of 7 January 1979. Naturally, it is the "glory days" for those who benefit - as a manna from heaven - for thirty years, and forcing all others to recognize and bellowing regularly as their "liberation". It was, however, and he is always that the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) of Heng Samrin, Chea Sim and Hun Sen derives its "legitimacy" of the former PPRK (Popular Revolutionary Party of Kampuchea), founded in 1951 by the Viet Minh, as a branch of the Cambodian Communist Party of Indochina Ho Chi Minh.

After April 1975, the Vietnamese communists had also concentration camps, carrying out summary executions of the defeated and the tragedy of "boat people" who alarmed about the world, it gave a clear idea of the "humanist" concerns of the regime in Hanoi. On the outside, after the easy colonization - almost without international protest- Laos, with an "Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation" of 18 July 1977, Hanoi has felt obliged to continue its march on Cambodia. Initially, the Vietnamese Communist did not feel embarrassed to publicly support the "revolutionary" of Pol Pot and his barbarism against the Khmer people, that on 17 April 1975 at the end of 1977, all knowledge of the facts. It was the refusal of Pol Pot, unlike Kaysone Phomvihane of Laos, bind to the "special relationship" with the "big brother" of Hanoi that eventually trigger bloody territorial conflict between the two countries.

These facts were known in the world. Was known as the rapid collapse of the domestic criminal regime of Pol Pot: from 1976, conspiracies and coups have been tempted by other Khmer Rouge leaders against it, which had for a time, sell its Prime Minister up to Nuon Chea, before returning to order ruthless massacres against his former brothers in arms. " At the end of 1977, Pol Pot was already well insulated. In November 1978, the West and ASEAN countries also sought to come to the rescue of Cambodia and its people, with the instruments of the United Nations, while refusing the plan of invasion of the country by the Vietnamese army, the proposed plan by Hanoi and supported by Moscow. In December 1978, however, over a hundred miles heavily Vietnamese armed troops, led by tanks and supported by fighter bombers, followed by hundreds of Khmer soldiers equipped with light weapons, invaded Cambodia. Phnom Penh fell to Pol Pot after a few days.

It especially holds that the so-called "liberation" of Cambodia by Hanoi was condemned by ASEAN, China and the international community, which demanded in Vietnam to the Paris Conference of 1991, to withdraw " all its forces in the country. This has not prevented Hanoi to occupy it, to impose his will by an immediate "Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation" of 18 February 1979 with the PPRK to Heng Samrin, Chea Sim, Hun Sen, of revise the borders of Cambodia and Vietnam to be annexed by other agreements of the 1980s, both land and sea Cambodia to organize the invasion of the country by millions of Vietnamese settlers and maintain, even after 1991, its domination over the CPP and the Cambodian Government. Cambodia, like Laos, should and must at all costs to integrate the new Empire of Vietnam. The latest example is the implementation enlightening Vietnamese in the so-called "Triangle Development Indochinese" established by Hanoi - of course "called" by Phnom Penh and Vientiane - in 1999, supported establishment at arm's length, this time , by Japan.

Before the triumph of colonialism Vietnamese, dépècement the Kingdom of Cambodia has also made active on the other side of harassment by the Thai to reclaim the Temple of Preah Vihear, in defiance and violation of the decision of the International Court of Justice. This, without doubt, to restart soon claim the provinces of Siem Reap, Battambang and Sisophon, removed their boots by international agreements and conventions of the past century. If successful, the treatment will begin general, and "disastrous dilution" of the territory stamp - that is so far in Cambodia - is that Vietnam and Thailand will face to face, for new bloody clashes And ... what the strategy states face a conflagration in the region, however, promised to peace, development and collective security?

Of course, the "Great Powers" of signatories of the Paris Agreements on Cambodia in 1991, have included past and present, and examined the future of this country, and billions of dollars in foreign aid made up Here in Cambodia represent nothing less than an attempt to revive the kingdom faces control much more than visible and harmful to Hanoi on this country. But is it enough if one gives free rein to Cambodia to all these violations of law and international commitments, and all these abuses of power by Hanoi and the CPP to Hun Sen?

The Khmer people, although forced to claim the propaganda of the CPP, has realized that too dated 7 January 1979 marks that of his enslavement. It will be his own release.
