A Khmer Surin Hero?

Dear Readers,

I received the following reply to my editorial titled "

The Cambodian patience should run out long time ago

" from a fellow Khmer Surin, whom I think is more Khmer than some of us. He is doing it tough trying to teach Khmer language to our Khmer Surin children due to shortage of money and teachers. Above all, he is a scholar who is well-versed in Khmer and Thai history. If anyone has any doubt about Preah Vihear and the 1907 treaty, ask him. The following is his wise advice to my somewhat belligerent editorial:

Dear All,

I hope that Khmer Prime Minister will seriously take the issue into the attention of the world court and the enforcement of the world court's ruling.

I don't agree with shooting because we are more decent than the Thais. We should take it to the UN now!!!

Thanks.

it's very important that all Khmers, no matter where we live, we need to maintain our identity.
