APPEAL
June 4, 2008 is the 59th anniversary of the date that colonial France gives away Kampuchea
Krom to colonial Vietnam to continue ruling until today. Since then on, the Khmer citizens have
been decimated and become minority on their own land. The sufferings occur one after another
committing by colonial Vietnam throughout times and regimes. Nevertheless, colonial Vietnam
and its puppets continue eradicating the Khmer name and voice by hindering the domestic and
international communities from knowing who the Khmer Kampuchea Krom people are.
However, because of the high-standard of nationalism of our Khmer compatriots stand united and
determined to save, defend, safeguard and protect at all cost even sacrificing our lives, we would
have not existed today.
Year 2000, the New Millennium of the Christian eras, the Khmer Kampuchea Krom Community
around the globe in solidarity continues [our] peaceful struggle by bringing awareness and focus
to the domestic and international communities to know who are the Khmer Kampuchea Krom
people, where there geography of Kampuchea Krom is, and degree of sufferings of the Khmer
citizens, especially we observe June 4, 2008 as National Mourning Day [for all Khmers] by
inviting the eminent 1,949 Buddhist clergies to preside over and honor the souls of heroic
Buddhist monks and heroes.
The success of the ceremony derives from great sacrifice of our compatriots, like you, especially
our compatriots and friends in the United States and Canada. This year the Khmer Kampuchea
Krom Community appeals to you and compatriots to make contributions to help make it a historic
success.
The charitable contribution from you, our friends and compatriots show our honor and gratitude
to our deceased heroic Buddhist clergies, heroes, and productively help the people and nation
genuinely.
This appeal is a warm extended invitation to the respected Venerable Buddhist clergies, you,
compatriots and KKC chapters’ leaders and members to join with us in honoring the past heroic
Buddhist monks, heroes and fallen compatriots for sacrificing their sacred lives.
The Buddhist Memorial Service to be held on June 4, 2008 in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of
Cambodia.
In appreciation.
Phnom Penh April 20, B.E.2552/C.E.2008
