Prince Norodom Ranariddh criticized opposition leader Sam Rainsy, saying that the latter forgot about the event of the 1997 grenade attack in front of the National Assembly because he pulled out the lawsuit against Hun Sen whom he accused of involvement in this attack. In a letter issued on Friday, the prince asked Sam Rainsy to explain to the public the reason he pulled out the lawsuit. Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, told The Cambodia Daily on Sunday that Ranariddh’s goal in issuing this letter was to show that Sam Rainsy no longer seeks justice for the victims, and as an important witness, Sam Rainsy must explain this issue and inform the public about it. In response to this accusation, Sam Rainsy said that he pulled out the lawsuit because there was no sufficient evidence against Hun Sen, however, he still demands that the search against the killers be continued.
