Articles published in the "Samne Khmer" newspaper have quoted Mr. Mao Monivan, deputy secretary of the Sam Rainsy Party who has said that the presence of the ex-king during the election will help the morale of the voters and to ensure the national unity.
Muth Chantha, spokesman for the Norodom Ranaridhh Party, and Kul Panha, Chairman of an election monitoring committee, Comfrel, have expressed similar views that if the ex-king Norodom Sihanouk remains in the country his presence will provide confidence and warmth to the voters and his presence will also ensure the political stability in the country.//
