Give our kids a better deal
PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- In about three years, Siem Reap will have to have 10,000 rooms more in order to well serve tourists, according to Cambodian Association of Travel Agents (CATA).

Ang Kim Eang, president of Cambodian Association of Travel Agents(CATA) said that currently due to the increase in number of Chinese and Japanese tourists in this high season leading to the lack of rooms. Siem Reap has about 20,000 rooms and 10,000 more rooms are needed in the next 2 to 3 coming years.

According to the president of the association, 70 percent of tourists to Siem Reap come from Asia and 30 percent from Europe.

Chinese tourists have the highest number among all, and are increasing in number in the last few months while tourists from Japan and Europe have declined in number.
