PHNOM PENH, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Wang Qibing, outgoing chief correspondent of Xinhua News Agency Phnom Penh Bureau, paid a farewell visit to Cambodian information minister Khieu Kanharith early this week as her three-year mission in Cambodia has ended, according to Cambodia's state-run Agence Kampuchea Press (AKP).
"Ms. Wang Qibing told H.E. Khieu Kanharith about the outcomes she gained during her three-year working performance in the field of information in Cambodia," the agency has said. "She also introduced her successor, Mr. Xue Lei, who used to work in Cambodia in 1996 and studied Khmer language at the University of Beijing."
During the meeting on Tuesday, Wang asked for the continuation of cooperation from the Ministry of Information in order to enable Xue Lei to achieve his mission in Cambodia successfully in the next two years.
For his part, Khieu Kanharith affirmed the stance of the Ministry of Information in continuing its collaboration with the China's state-owned Xinhua News Agency, noting that Xinhua was a good partner of AKP.
The minister also hailed Xinhua for reporting a large number of news about Cambodia to the world and those pieces of news have also been quoted or used by Cambodian media.
