Appeal Court President’s Son appointed New Judge [This is dynastic succession and is corrupt to the core!]

BY  | OCTOBER 6, 2014
The son of the president of the Appeal Court has been appointed as a new judge at the court, according to a Justice Ministry official.
You Bunna, formerly a judge at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, has been transferred to work under his father, Appeal Court President You Bunleng, according to Sam Pracheameanith, the cabinet chief of the Justice Ministry.
Judge Bunna was one of eight judges and prosecutors to have been appointed to new positions by the ministry last month.
Other judges transferred to the Appeal Court in the most recent order include Tith Sothy Boraleak, daughter of Appeal Court deputy prosecutor-general Tith Sothy, and Yet Molin, daughter of Phnom Penh Municipal Court prosecutor Yet Chakriya.
Mr. Pracheameanith said the Supreme Council of the Magistracy recently voted to approve the transfers, which were proposed by the ministry.
He said the transfer of Judge Bunna to his father’s court was a “normal” personnel shift and had nothing to do with their familial relationship.
