PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Anti-Vietnam protest leader said Friday that he filed a complaint with Ministry of Interior over a death threat against him via telephone call.
"I filed the complaint with Interior Minister in order to find justice for myself and ask the ministry to capture the guy who threatened to kill me," said Thach Setha, president of Khmer Kampuchea Krom Association.
Setha was given the death threat via telephone calls by an unidentified Vietnamese-speaking man after he led Khmer Krom monks, youths and activists to protest to demand Vietnam to recognize that Kampuchea Krom, now in Sothern part of Vietnam, was former territory of Cambodia.
The group just concluded their five-day protest last Wednesday, and vowed to stage more protests in the future.
They also marched to present petitions to the National Assembly and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Office to Cambodia to call for support to their demand for apology from Vietnam, following comments made by a Vietnamese embassy spokesman who said that Kampuchea Krom belonged to Vietnam along time ago, and France never detached the land to it.
