In relation to: The Rise of China and the Future of the West
China will be outstripped America to take place as the first economic superpower but China will never be the most leading role model and trustworthy as long as its political system is communist. The world will never accept the Chinese to replace the Westerners.
China neither wants to put herself to be in that role nor wants to impose her will on others. What the Chinese would like to see is to have influential power to do things and block what she doesn't like.

The China is catching up with the US because the latter has been busy playing cop for the world. When China’s turn to play the cop, the world will be in big trouble because China will not be a good cop.

you can't trust anybody but Yourself... china , western they are all in it to rob the people of their rights... the few in power want to control the many at the bottom... those in power live in constant fear that one day people at the bottom will rise up and throw them out on their asses... so they continue to build military and police force to protect them [ if you think the military and police will not turn their guns against you when ordered you are badly mistaken ] in the US and EU those in power militarize the police force in case the students [ who are the ones to begin a protest against them ] should decide to start one..why the school police need military weapon even grenade launcher ?
[ With public schools across the United States receiving military equipment to improve security, Democrats have become increasingly concerned over the potential misuse of these weapons, The Wall Street Journal reported.]
[The Spanish government is militarizing gearing up for violent protests against the EU that are expected to turn up before a hot autumn. Spain is now equipping the police for about one billion euros with new combat equipment. ]
you could be a potential terrorist just for shopping ...
[ Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said his department will be issuing new guidance to retailers this week giving them pointers on how to spot potential terrorists among their customers by looking at what they’re buying.]
