SIEM REAP: Actor Terence Cao travelled to Siem Reap, Cambodia, on Friday (Aug 15) to do volunteer work at a free school there.
The actor and a few of his friends brought over donated LAPTOPS, dictionaries as well as other learning materials and taught the students how to use these items.
Cao revealed that he was roped in by actor Thomas Ong, whom he had previously worked with in the drama The Caregivers, to help out at the school.
"Our objective is to encourage them to LEARN ENGLISH. Armed with various life skills, hopefully, they will be able to work in the tourist industry and improve their lives," said Cao.
The actor added that he and his friends had actually learned a lot from the students at the school.
"Every day, we eat together and learn about their food as well as their culture. We also listen to them and play with them. We are all friends now. It has been very inspiring for us," said Cao, describing the trip as a "humbling" experience.
The actor will return to Singapore on Sunday (Aug 17) and will start work on a new Mandarin drama in September.
