PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Thailand said four provinces bordering Cambodia would open one-stop service centers on Thursday for Cambodian workers who wish to return to work in the country.
The National News Bureau of Thailand quoted Trat Governor Benchawan Arnpruang as saying that the National Council for Peace and Order was behind the initiative.
"The NCPO has come up with the idea after large number of Cambodian workers had fled home due to rumors on migrant worker clampdown," the official news agency said.
The center in Trat will be located at the Ban Hat Lek government complex in Klong Yai district, it said.
Other provinces opening similar centers on Thursday were identified as Surin, Sa Kaeo and Chanthaburi.
