Give our kids a better deal

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Mu Sochua, Member of Parliament of Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) on Tuesday has said that she will file a complaint against Daun Penh district deputy governor over crackdown by authority at the Freedom Park on April 21.

“Lawyers are studying legal procedures against Daun Penh district deputy governor Sok Penhvuth over crackdown,” Mu Sochua told a news conference held at headquarters of CNRP in Chak Angre Ler commune of Meanchey district.

The complaint would be filed in the name of Cambodia National Rescue Party.

Sochua also called for suspension of position to Sok Penhvuth who ordered security forces to crackdown on protesters.

She said she would provide evidence of the violent crackdown ordered by the deputy governor to US embassy, and would access the Freedom Park again from 30 April to 2 May after she would meet with European Union delegation on April 28.

The violent clash yesterday left about 10 people injured Daun Penh security forces forces beat the protesters gathering at the Freedom Park.

Cambodian Government led by Prime Minister Hun Sen who has ruled the country over 28 years, has banned any rallies at the Freedom Park as well as at other public places after deadly crackdown by government forces against protesting workers on Veng Sreng Street and at Yakjin factory on 2nd-3rd January.
