French Colonials built a prison on Phu Quoc in 1940-1945 to house Vietnamese. Vietnamese have been living on Phu Quoc for more than a hundred of years, from the time the Ming soldiers left China to run away from the Manchu.
Now day, Vietnam has 100,000 Vietnamese living on the island. A million visitors come every year. Vietnam already build a 800 million US dollars International airport, a 100 million US dollars power cables connecting the island to mainland.
This year, there will be so many multi-million, hundred-million resort, hotel projects to start on Phu Quoc.
You folks still want to challenge Vietnam over Koh Tral? You gotta be kidding me.

P.S. Based on what I read from googling, the island and the area around were mostly uninhibited. The Ming soldiers came and laid claim to the area. Later on, Siam and Cambodia pressured their descendants, the children of the Ming soldiers had their mothers from Vietnam wanted to join Vietnam for protection.
Vietnam can use that fact and the hundred of years in ownership of the island to keep. Khmer destroyed the Funan Kingdom and erased every thing around Phu Quoc related to Funanese and laid claim to the area without inhibiting it? That will not work.

This is such an important information, and all Khmer should know. I just hate the stupid background soundtrack. It's so irritating and annoying.
