Give our kids a better deal
Working groups of CPP (R) and CNRP meet today at the Senate. The two parties failed to to reach an agreement on how to reform the National Eelection Committee.
PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – The negotiation today between working groups of Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) and Cambodian People's Party ended in stalemate as the two sides failed to reach an agreement on how to reform the National Election Committee.

Son Chhay, member of CNRP's Joint Committee for Election Reform, said after the meeting that the joint committee of the two parties would not be able to meet weekly, but the meeting can take place when necessary.

Son Chhay said CNRP demanded that the National Election Committee shall be a constitutional body which shall be approved by two-thirds of the 123-seat National Assembly.

However, CPP disagreed on the demands, according to Son Chhay.

Bin Chhin, member of CPP's Joint Committee said The meeting lasted only half an hour today and CNRP then asked to end the meeting. The CNRP today called off further talks with the CPP.
