Provincial Capital To Be Built on Teak Forest [Why is the capital need to be built in a highly priced timber forest? Umm, it's suspicious]

BY  | the cambodia daily, FEBRUARY 6, 2014

The government has granted 322 hectares of state-owned teak forest in the newly formed Tbong Khmum province to the Interior Ministry so that the land can be used to build a new provincial capital, the Interior Ministry said Wednesday.
“The government has decided to use more than 300 hectares of state land to create infrastructure for the new Tbong Khmum province,” ministry spokesman Khieu Sopheak said.
The new province was split from Kompong Cham in December, with the new provincial capital set to be built in Prathat village in Tbong Khmum district’s Sralop commune.
According to a January 30 statement from the Interior Ministry posted on the website of Deum Ampil News, the land will be used to build government buildings, a hospital, a school, a museum, a stadium, and a public garden.
The statement did not mention what would happen to the teak trees that would be felled in the 322-hectare area. Kompong Cham provincial governor Lom Limthai said a committee would be formed tostudy the best way for construction of the new capital to proceed.
“Building the capital city of the province will take place after the study is completed,” said Mr. Limthai, although he could not provide a time frame.

It sounds like the CPP crooks have tried to cut those Timber trees for doing illegal businesses and making big profits.

CPP and criminal Hun Sen must be forced out of the power and destroyed by the power of Khmer/Cambodian people at home and abroad with the help from UN and international communities.
