PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The meeting between the technical groups from the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) hadn't produced any concrete results as both sides still needed to report back to their respective heads.

During the three-hour meeting at the National Assembly, the two sides agreed to meet once again this weekend.

Immediately after the meeting, CPP representative Prum Sokha and CNRP representative Yim Sovan held a news conference to shed light on the meeting.

Yim Sovan said that this morning's meeting didn’t touch on the topics of the CNRP’s lawmakers attending the National Assembly and the post divisions.

The meeting only raised the issue of election reforms, which had been already agreed upon between the leaders of the CPP and the CNRP in the first meeting held on September 16.

Prum Sokha said the meeting didn’t produce any results, but it was a mechanism towards election reform.

Sokha said they didn’t discuss the post divisions as it was out of their capacity.

So the meeting has no agenda. why the meeting runs 3 hrs long? I don't get it.

It is the good time for CNRP to keep chewing and stretching sugar gums in their mouths as long as they can before they spit them out.

The CPP is dragging its feet. It came to the meeting just for the sake of the meeting, but has no intention of solving any concerns voiced by the opposition. The CPP is dragging its feet to wear out and frustrate the CNRP and its supporters.
