Twenty-five Cambodian officials will attend a 20-day training course on anti-corruption strategies in Beijing from December 2 to 21, the Cambodian Anti-Corruption Unit ( ACU) said on Friday.

The officials are led by Im Chanthol, assistant to the ACU, said an ACU's media statement. Fifteen officials are from the ACU, five are from the Ministry of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, and the five others are from the ruling Cambodian People's Party.

The training will take place at the China Academy of Discipline Inspection and Supervision, it said.

"During the course, experts will present strategies in fighting corruption and share knowledge of the Chinese government's strategies," the statement said.

The officials will also make a study tour to Fuzhou and Xiamen of Fujian province and Kunming and Lijiang of Yunnan province in order to learn experiences in combating corruption in those cities.

The training course is made possible under a 3-year
program ( 2013-2015), which is sponsored by the Chinese government, the statement said, adding that 25 Cambodian officials will get anti- corruption training in China each year under the program.

The Cambodian government sees corruption as a major obstacle to economic development, rule of law, democracy, social stability, as well as the main cause of poverty.

The country established the ACU in 2010. To date, the agency has arrested and brought a number of corrupt officials to court.
