PHNOM PENH, March 17 — The ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP)
concluded its congress on Sunday, fully supporting the candidacy of
incumbent Prime Minister Hun Sen for the post of prime minister in the
next term if the party continues to win the general election in July,
the party’s chief said.
Hun Sen, 61, has been in power for 28 years and vowed to stay in the office until he is 90.
“The congress unanimously supports the candidacy of Hun Sen, CPP’s
Vice-President, as Prime Minister of Cambodia for the fifth legislative
term of the National Assembly (2013-2018) and terms thereafter,” CPP
President Chea Sim said in the closing address.
“The congress also reviews the evaluation work in preparation for the
party committee at all levels to contest for victory in the 5th
legislative term elections of the National Assembly, which will take
place on July 28, 2013,” he said. “We have prepared well for the
forthcoming elections.”
The two-day congress was attended by 2,248 senior members.
The congress adopted the proclamation of the political platform of
the party for the construction and defense of the motherland for
2013-2018, according to the congress resolutions released on Sunday.
It added that the congress also clearly certified the participation
of the CPP in the forthcoming elections in the spirit of respecting the
electoral law, order, procedure and ethical codes of conduct, while
sincerely cooperating with every national institution, political parties
and circles to guarantee the elections’ proceeding in a free, fair and
just manner.
The CPP won up to 90 seats out of the 123 parliamentary seats in the last election in July 2008.

Chea Sim is the Head of CPP , his job is to read what was
written for him only ; even when he had influence , he has
never used his brain at all . He could not even lead his own
family . Chea Sim permitted all of his children to use his
power to intimidate people , to be robbers , land grabbers
etc ...- none of them finished high school level . Chea Sim
has cared about neither his children future , nor about future
of Camnodians - only himself . The people who have worked around him,from the cabinet to bodyguard unit are crooks ; they are going to jail one by one which proved that the boss ( Chea Sim ) is
powerless .
