PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, March 1 (UPI) -- Cambodia's trade with Vietnam and Thailand rose sharply last year, official data release Friday indicated.
Bilateral trade with Vietnam reached about $3.3 billion in 2012, up
18 percent from 2011, a report by China's Xinhua News Agency said,
citing the Vietnam trade office in Cambodia.
Cambodian exports to Vietnam, mainly agriculture products, rubber
latex and furniture, totaled $486 million, while imports from Vietnam
such as petroleum, construction materials, IT devices and equipment and
fertilizers totaled $2.8 billion.
Total trade with Thailand in 2012 was valued at $3.8 billion, up 40
percent year-on-year, Xinhua said, quoting the Thai foreign trade
promotion office. Cambodia exported $300 million worth of agricultural
products, recyclable metal and fish to Thailand. It imported $3.5
billion worth of Thai vehicles, petroleum, processed goods, building
materials and agricultural machinery.
