, Tea Banh, said soldiers will be test firing multiple BM 21 rockets on
Thursday next week.
He said, firing of the rockets in a war exercise in Kampong Speu province aims to show the ability of Cambodia's soldiers as well as expand the national defense sector to protect the territory.
The comments were made Wednesday after a training exercise and he also advised the soldiers to be diligent on peace keeping missions in the name of the United Nations.
The drills will also utilize tanks and other armored vehicles.
They had test fired the multi BM 21 rockets successfully before, on March 2010, while Thai soldiers were occupying Cambodian territory around Preah Vihear temple.
In the drills on 2010, the soldiers fired 215 rockets which were imported from Russia and China.
One BM 21 rocket costs between $1,200 and $3,800.
