PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The body of Ieng
Sary, 87, who died Thursday morning in Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital
was transported to his house.
Neth Pheaktra, spokes for the UN-backed Khmer Rouge Tribunal, said the his corpse was moved to his house around 3:00pm after doctors inject it with an anti-decaying fluid.
The family will bring the former Khmer Rouge Foreign Minister to the funeral site at the Malai district in Banteay Meanchey to be cremated.
Ieng Sary was accused, through his acts or omissions, of crimes against humanity and genocide which includes: the murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation imprisonment, torture, persecution on political, racial, and religious grounds between the periods of April 17, 1975 and January 6, 1979. But all of that has been voided because of his death. His case is no longer opened.
Nuon Chea, 86, and Khieu Samphan, 81, are next to be tried in the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.
