BANGKOK, 20 February 2013 (NNT) – The House Committee on Foreign Affairs
has discussed with all related agencies about possible means to improve
the relations between Thailand and Cambodia and create a mutual
understanding regarding the Phra Wihan case.
At the meeting of the House of Representatives today, the committee on foreign affairs decided to take the opportunity to get all agencies involved in the Phra Wihan case, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, national security units and the governor of Si Sa Ket, to discuss and exchange related information. The meeting was aimed to seek ways to promote the bilateral relationship between the two countries at various levels.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that both Thai and Cambodian leaders are able to settle their differences through talks no matter what the World Court’s ruling on the overlapping territory might turn out to be.
Both parties will continue to maintain their friendship and a peaceful atmosphere on the Thai-Cambodian border as it would be mutually beneficial to both nations in terms of trading.
Meanwhile, Si Sa Ket Governor Suriya Amornrotworawut cited that the Thai-Cambodian relations are now going well as both sides are still conducting trades as usual and have cooperated in many cultural activities.

Good to hear that, stop shooting Cambodians people while they are crousing to looks for works we share 99.99% culture and region why fighting? Yuon is the main obstacle in both nation enemy,Siam were lucky because they don't shares border with yieknam aggressor/expanism of territory.
It is a GOOD start but as Khmer person I will be still cautious of Siam. Through history since the 13th century Siam be friend and then killed us and took our north and west provinces.
They said we shared similar ! Lol of course they assimilate our people Khmer Surin cultures. They are always looking for ways to make Cambodia becomes Thailand next provinces. A lot of Siam peoples still wanted to look down and talk down on Khmers. They always an obstacle of Cambodia progress in order to keep us weak and dependent on them. They even told foreigners lied about our country and people's. These are the facts.
I say yes to improve relationship but with cautious of their tricks. This neighbor of ours are very clever, manipulative, liars, sometimes cold hearted, had many ways of destroying us, highly educated, rich, wicked, etc., etc., etc.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE THEY DID TREATED OUR BROTHERS & SISTERS KHMER SURIN MUCH BETTER THAN THE VIETS TREATED KHMER KAMPUCHEA KROMS. Many Khmer Surin had ascended to the top of Thai government post but I can't say the same thing about Vietnamese treated our peoples.
Their economy
