PHNOM PENH, 29 January 2013 (The Cambodia Herald) - The Documentation Center of Cambodia
said Tuesday that its Museum of Memory had found a broken head of a
sandstone guardian lion in Preah Vihear province.
A statement said a team led by museum director Sirik Savina made the discovery while investigating the Koh Ker temple complex.
"The statue piece was moved about 20 meters from its original sight on Rolum temple built around 10th century A.D. It was probably part of an unsuccessful looting effort," the statement said.
