THOUGHT riding to work was tough? Think again.
Marty Gordon and Alex Hotchin have just returned to Toowoomba after a life-changing 16-month bicycle ride from Scotland to Cambodia.
After travelling through 18 countries, befriending stray dogs in Turkey and braving blizzards in the mountains of Iran, the couple is coming to terms with settling back into a " "normal" life in Australia.
Until the next trip, that is.
They are spending two weeks winding down at Ms Hotchin's parents' home in Highfields before getting back to work in Melbourne.

"When we flew to Glasgow in August 2011 we had no idea where it was we would ride," Mr Gordon said.
"Yet, as fate would have it we were seated next to a Glaswegian lady who told us the Isle of Mull and the Isle of Aaron were beautiful places, so after putting our bikes back together, and organising ourselves that is where we headed.
"Generally, this was the way we travelled the entire journey, asking for directions and advice, but it sure was a great way to travel."
