PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) - The head of the youth wing of the Sam
Rainsy Party appeared in Phnom Penh Municipal Court Friday, a week
after filing a lawsuit blaming Prime Minister Hun Sen for a stampede two
years ago.
Before entering the court, Youth Movement leader Soung Sophorn said he had 21 photos as well as videos to present to public prosecutor Meas Chanpiseth.
Speaking after the hearing, Soung Sophorn said he was defending himself in the case since he's a lawyer.
Hun Sen has announced plans to counter-sue the youth group leader if the court finds he is innocent.
The stampede on the third day of annual Water Festival in 2010 killed 353 and injured about 400 people.

លោកបានចូលខ្លួន ទៅឆ្លើយបំភ្លឺ នៅចំពោះមុខ លោក មាស ច័ន្ទពិសិដ្ឋ
ព្រះរាជអាជ្ញារង អមសាលាដំបូងរាជធានីភ្នំពេញហើយនៅព្រឹកមិញនេះ
ពាក់ព័ន្ធនឹងរឿងប្ដឹងសម្តេចតេជោ ហ៊ុន សែន ពីបទឃាតកម្មគិត ទុកជាមុន
ក្នុងករណីជាន់គ្នាស្លាប់ ៣៥៣នាក់ នៅស្ពានកោះពេជ្រ កាលពីឆ្នាំ២០១០នោះ។
លោកបញ្ជាក់ថា លោកមិនបានជួលមេធាវី ហើយក៏គ្មានអ្នកអមដំណើរ ជាមួយលោកដែរ
ក្នុងការឆ្លើយបំភ្លឺនៅព្រឹកមិញនេះ ព្រោះលោក មិនមែន ជាជនរងគ្រោះ
និងជាអ្នកចេះច្បាប់ផងនោះ «ខ្ញុំអត់ត្រូវការមេធាវីទេ
ពីព្រោះខ្ញុំមិនមែនជាជនរងគ្រោះ ហើយខ្ញុំជាអ្នកច្បាប់ផងដែរនោះ គឺខ្ញុំបាន
ការពារជនរងគ្រោះ៣៥៣នាក់ ហើយនឹងរបួសជាង៤០០នាក់ អីចឹងមានន័យ ថា

និងបង្ហាញភស្ដុតាងមួយចំនួន ដូចជា ខ្សែវីឌីអូ រូបថតមួយចំនួនធំជាដើម តែថា
តុលាការមិនទាន់មានចំណាត់ការ យ៉ាងណានោះទេ រង់ចាំសប្តាហ៍ក្រោយ។

Bringing up the conspiracy theory back and just only the idea of thoughts:
Let say Soung sophorn is very brave to dare challengging Hun Sen at the court. And no one in SRP officials joins him in this lawsuit? In the bad word, they run away from him? right!!!
Then Suong Sophorn is unintentionally or intentionally helping Hun Sen to show to the Cambodian people,who may not know more than their daily living, that SRP officals are coward for being unable to stand with their youth.
Hun sen is set to gain politically from this lawsuit as the lelection drawn closer...not to mention this case won't go any further.
we need more of this kind of guy in cambodia.
Lets not call the democracy movement as SRP,lets erase SRP out of the context lets just call democrat,because I lose faith in that SRP name, it won't goes any further by using this name,their youth leader more brave to face dictator in court their seniors SRP members distances themselves from their youth leader(Soung Sophorn) how pathetic was the senior's leader of SRP? Cpp sticks togethers like glue,SRP breaks up unity like kids without supervisor on the playground.Soung Sophorn you're a hero whether you lose the case protect win the case you have a gut to face the monster of our time.May god bless you....

Soung Sophorn is a brave young man, but I think he had put himself into a big trouble without gaining anything politically. However, I salute his bravery!
I hope he will only receive a financial fine, not a jail term for daring to stand up to Hun Sen's dictatorship. I wish him all the best.
I still don't understand. It seems any one who attacks Hun Sen is able to get a Visa to go overseas. He might get a VISA to go to Pray Sar instead. He need to be careful.
I would support him, if he attacks HUN Sen for the right reason. For being brave is good, but stupidity is certainly something else. Don't just do it for the opportunity to try to go overseas.
