In Cambodia, [US] military aid spending almost tripled this year to $18.2 million.

US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta will be paying a visit to Cambodia next week, in a meeting set to coincide with a two-day ASEAN defence ministers summit, a Cambodian official said yesterday.
“It will be the first time that Leon Panetta visits Cambodia to boost bilateral ties in military and security,” said Nem Sowath, director general of the Defence Ministry’s policy and foreign affairs department.
Expected to be discussed during the November 16 meeting, said Sowath, are the bolstering of military ties and “co-operation in military human resources development”.
The US has come under fire for its military assistance to Cambodia, which critics have argued has sometimes come with insufficient vetting of human rights violations.

As American foreign policy increasingly focuses on countering China’s influence in Asia, the US has ramped up military aid to the region.

Just a bad dream for some.
Don't think, the USA will do the same idiot coup again with Cambodia. The today US President and their people felt very sorry for what happened during the year 1970 under the leadership of the Republican. The US Military destroyed our country was just stupid way, because the US only had this choice or reason to move out their military of Vietnam.
But the US people and the today president are now try to help to implement a better democracy in Cambodia on different actions (by updating the education, infrastructure, military & police forces, social and cultural supports) and not by forces.

Please those crazy Cambodians. stop the CULTURE of Dependincy on foreigners. It's normal that the Foreign countries including the US and China, act their interests first. It's very natural.

I don't like Hun Sen. But Cambodian ppeople must work by themselve FIRST.

In the international context the Great powers are working for their Countries and for the Countries who share their interests and not always their values...
