Trade between Cambodia and Thailand increased by 41% in the 1st 8
months of Y 2012, according to statistics provided by the Thai Embassy
in Phnom Penh Wednesday.
From January to August this year, the two-way trade amounted to US$2.72-B, + 41 percent from US$1.93-B a year earlier.
Thailand’s exports to Cambodia stood at US$2.55-B in the 8 months, +
41 percent from US$1.81-B a year ago, whilst Cambodia’s exports to
Thailand reached US$168-M, +34 percent from US$125-M.
Thailand’s main products exported to Cambodia included vehicles,
petroleum, processed goods, building materials, fruits and vegetables.
In exchange, Cambodia primarily exported agricultural products, used
garments, recyclable metal and fish.
Last year, the two neighbors’ trade volume was US$3.08-B, + 21% Y-Y.
