Opposition party youths yesterday announced that they have revised their
plans to protest the composition of the National Election Committee
next week in Phnom Penh in order to show respect for the memory of the
late King Father Norodom Sihanouk.
Instead of protesting, on
October 23 some 400 representatives of the Sam Rainsy Party Youth
Movement will shave their heads and then parade to the Royal Palace to
mourn the King Father’s passing.
He said that the demonstration demanding changes to the NEC’s composition will be rescheduled for November 8.
