The bilateral trade
volume between Cambodia and its neighboring Vietnam had jumped to $2.45
billion in the first nine months of this year, a 17 percent rise from
$2.09 billion at the same period last year, a report of Vietnam's Trade
Office in Phnom Penh showed Sunday.
During the January-September period this year, Cambodia's export to
Vietnam went up by 9.5 percent to $378 million, whilst Vietnam's export
to Cambodia rose by 18 percent to $2.07 billion.
Products Cambodia exported to Vietnam included unprocessed
agricultural products such as rice, corn, cassava, and rubber latex. In
exchange, Vietnam exported petroleum, construction materials,
information technology devices and equipment, agricultural machinery,
fertilizers, and consuming products to the country.
The two neighbors' trade volume last year was $2.8 billion, up 55 percent year-on-year.
