More
than three years after it was stripped, the immunity of opposition
lawmaker Mu Sochua (pictured) was restored yesterday by vote from the National
Assembly’s Permanent Committee.
“It’s a new page. I’m moving
on,” Sochua told the Post last night, adding that she learned of the
committee’s vote in a letter signed by National Assembly President Heng
Samrin.
The parliamentarian’s immunity was stripped in 2009
after she announced plans to sue the premier for making allegedly
degrading comments. Prime Minister Hun Sen countersued for defamation, a
case he won.
Legal experts have said the immunity should have
been restored following the 2010 guilty verdict against her, but the
case instead bounced around for two years before the Court of Appeal in
August granted her “rehabilitation”, paving the way for the Permanent
Committee vote.
“It should not have happened [in the first
place],” Sochua said yesterday. “MPs should be able to represent without
fear of being targeted to the point of losing his or her immunity.”

Wrong or right, there is no justice to anyone wants tell the truth about anything in Cambodia this day.Because the constitution of Cambodia is base on Mr Hun Sen.He was/is a walking constitution of Cambodia,he and his cronies won 99.99 % in court in Cambodia,in all cases,it doesn't matters what case it was/is.The cambodian's constitution walks with Mr Hun Sen every where he and his cronies goes, they were always right....Bias,corrupt,court system must be changed for the better Cambodian's society as whole, not just his cronies....
You are absolutely right. Hun Sen knows very well of all of his corrupt actions, unless he is so druged and loses all his brain. His behavior and language do not prove that he is a civilised person. It is a very sad era for the Khmer People.
There are many very bad Yuon/Vietnamese bloggers on Ki-Media and Khmerization. Those dirty and hypocrite evil Yuon/Vietnamese bloggers on here are worried about losing ground and face. Yes, Yuon/Vietnamese folks are stupid to do bad things from the first places. That is why they deserved to be hated and be disgusted in this world. Yuon/Vietnamese (Yuon-Cambodian born) bloggers in Long Beach, CA are unbelievable and evil because they support CPP (Yuon/Vietnamese Masters' dirty plans to gain the Khmer territory for themselves) and they like to show off their dirty wealth and stupid businesses. American people will find out about how bad and dirty Yuon/Vietnamese refugees and folks in the U.S. including around the world.

To 5:11 AM,
Not only not being afraid, we want to challenge and fight against you Yuon theives.
The only expression of opinions you have is lies, deceits, and misinformation.
We have a lot of respect to this women. Despite all the problem and trouble she had during the last years, but she still has the courage to fight for her right and the right of other Khmer innocents.
Too bad in our today country, we have some stupid and idiot children of the new riches (but not wealthy) or government members or military forces, who are still live under their parents income or used their parents names to press the poor and the innocents.
