Japan has told Cambodia, which holds the rotating
ASEAN chairmanship this year, that it is dissatisfied with the
chairman's statements after two meetings of the bloc's foreign ministers
in July, according to diplomatic sources.
Foreign Minister Koichiro Genba, in a letter to
his Cambodian counterpart, Hor Namhong, dated July 24, voiced regret
that the issue of the abductions of Japanese nationals by North Korea
was not included in the statement, which was issued after the foreign
ministers' meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Phnom Penh on July 12,
the sources said.
Genba also took issue with Hor Namhong over
the chairman's statement issued following the foreign ministers' meeting
of East Asia Summit member countries, held in the Cambodian capital on
the same day, saying that territorial disputes in the South China Sea
with China and its neighbors were not properly conveyed.
The sources said Hor Namhong responded to Genba's
letter, noting that such statements are not meant to be a verbatim
record but rather a summary of the overall views of a meeting.
"No country, except, Japan . . . had voiced
disagreement with the chairman's statements," Hor Namhong was quoted as
saying in his letter to Genba on July 27.
With Russia, South Korea and China having gone on
the diplomatic offensive over territorial disputes with Japan, the tone
of Hor Namhong's letter to Genba suggests a decline in Southeast Asia
of Japan's diplomatic clout.

I agree with you 100%. In WW II Japan helped set up Ho Chi Minh group called Viet Minh to help fight French colonial. After they lost WW II the Japanese forces left Indo China but left a lot of weapons in the hands of Viet Minh. You all know who made Cambodian lives miserably until today. Japanese created Viet Minh and Viet Minh created KR. Don't forget Japan also bombed us and killed us in WW II.

Between Cambodia and Vietnam the Japanese picks the latest, for many reasons, and this long before “Vietnamese withdrawal” from Cambodia in 1992. Japanese believe that they have physical and cultural similarities with Vietnamese. It is said that Japanese business men in Hanoi in their 40s like to hang out with their Vietnamese girlfriends after going to karaoke. For geopolitical reason Japanese companies investing in Vietnam benefit from high-level political backing. Japan is one of Vietnam’s largest aid donors and political and security ties between the two countries are growing as both look anxiously over their shoulder at an ever more assertive China. Japan provided Vietnam with Y100bn of official development assistance in 2010, about a third of the total it provided to the whole of south-east Asia. Compared to what Vietnam receives from Japan, investments in Cambodia are meaningless. No doubt that Japan helps Vietnam to have a firm grips on Cambodia. To me, I think that the USA always helping Philippine and Thailand, of course they both do please the USA and there is no way to talk against or anti American, this is the loyalty means, but if it is the China instead, the both countries will do the same thing for China as Cambodia does. You Cambodian on here are a bunch of Khmer Rouge sympathizers. It was China’s explicit backing that allowed the Khmer Rouge to almost single-handedly destroy Cambodia. When you side with China, you are wishing for the destruction of Cambodia, for those who don't know history are destined to repeat it. Remember and remember well, it was Vietnam, Vietnam alone, that saved Cambodia from utter extinction, thus helped the great revival of Cambodia as we see it today.

Japan is not a member of ASEAN. Why does it push ASEAN to mention its dispute with China in the ASEAN post-meeting communique?
Does anyone remember Mr. Yasushi Akashi when he was in charge of UNTAC? He sided with youns and called us paranoia when we told him yuons are not trustworthy people. Don't worry Japan will learn its lesson the hard way. Yuons had always betrayed those who help them.

Japan used to be Cambodia's biggest donor. China never donated but lent only. And now Cambodia owed China nearly $10 billion. Japan gave for free while China lent money to Cambodia with interests.

Vietnam saved Cambodia, after Vietnam train Pol Pot to kill Khmer. Vietnam alone installed Pol Pot to uprise agaisnt the Khmer government. Vietnam alone install Hun Sen and allowed Hun Sen to extend his power and abuse the Khmer people from their land. Vietnam alone killed Khmer during the Vietnam invasion and Vietnam occupation. Everything starts with Vietnam. Hor Nam Hong is a Vietnamese. Sok An is a Vietnamese. CPP are Khmer Rouge who are Vietnamese and installed by the Vietnamese.
Vietnamese laughs when 3 millions Khmer died. Then laughed again when they came to save Cambodia.

You said we don't know history, yet you didn't mention that KR regime was created by Viet Minh and then Viet Cong. Did you know that many KR cadres are Youn agents ? Youn created an atmosphere of distrust among KR + KR ignorant peasants and this lead to almost 2 millions of Khmers genocide. Yes, China was also responsible for not put a stop to the killing of civilians. Youn came to the rescue after their agents destroyed Cambodian societies.
I agree with you. May I add a few things. Here are reasons why Japanese helped Youn over Khmers:
1. Youn like Japanese both came from China a long time ago,
2. Youn rutless and clever just like Japanese Samurai belief. They believe the strong survived and thrived and weak peoples like us need to be dominate by Youn. Japs respect only the strong. In WW II Allied prisoners who seem weak will have their head cut off. Those prisoners who the Japs think have a strong mind will be spare. This was always Samurai thinking.
3. Japs & Youn both eat nasty foods. They both do not care about animals and environment . Youn and Japs sex lifestyle are similar which is sick and crazy. That's why Japs like Youn woman more. Youn women are willing to do some nasty things like the Japs. Khmers women still have self dignity.

NOTHING IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE! Vietnam still infringes on our territory, exploiting our natural resource, stealing timbers, fishes, minerals etc. We want complete independence from Vietnam! We do not want them to bother us by frequent visit to phnom Penh as pretext to infringe on our business as if Cambodia is still their colony. Stop economic exploitation on Cambodia!
Japan helped created Viet Minh during WW II to fight French colonial. Japan left Indo China after losing WW II, left a lot of arms for Viet Minh. Viet Minh created Khmer Isarak and Khmer Isarak evolved into Khmer Viet Minh and later became Khmer Rough. You know what the KR did to Cambodia. Japan supported Vietnamese much much more than Cambodian. Japanese government & businesses invest around $25 billions dollars in Vietnam compare around $150 millions in Cambodia. So you see Japanese indirectly supported Viets take over Cambodia. I am 100% supported China because they are our ONLY true friend through good and bad times.
