PHNOM PENH, Sept. 26, 2012 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia is very proud of excellent relationship with China and believes that the ties will be further enhanced in the future, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sok An, Minister in charge of the Council of Ministers, said Wednesday evening.
"Our two governments and peoples are very proud that our relation has been strengthened and upgraded to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation in recent years," he said during the celebration of the 63rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China (Oct.1, 1949- Oct 1, 2012).
The event was attended by some 300 people, including Cambodian senior government officials, foreign diplomats, Chinese businessmen and Chinese residing in Cambodia.
"I'm strongly confident that the long lasting bond of friendship between our countries and peoples, which has been enhanced and expanded through our 54 years of diplomatic relation, will be crucially important for our future generations," he added.
Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Pan Guangxue highly spoke on close relationship between China and Cambodia in politics, trade, investment, education and culture.
He said the ties have been constantly strengthened and expanded through the exchange of visits by the two countries' top leaders.
"China is ready to make joint effort with Cambodia and provide mutual support in order to strengthen traditional friendship and deepen cooperation between the two countries," the ambassador said.
He also stressed China's stance, saying that the country would continue to firmly stick to the path of peaceful development as well as its commitment to safeguarding world peace and common development for common prosperity.

The Chinese are never anyone's friend. They have one purpose and that's to take all of our resources. If there is one thing to learn from history between the Chinese and the Viets, once the Chinese were in power, they treated people like slaves and thus causing a rebellion. If you think the Chinese is a better master, then you know nothing about history. If the Vietnamese wanted Cambodia, they would have taken it after they defeated the KR and the Chinese invasion from the north. There's no one to stop them since no one was in power. If they didn't retaliate to the KR, you or most people on this site wouldn't be alive to spout your hatred for the Vietnamese and your love for the real instigator of the KR, which is the Chinese who wanted both Vietnam and Cambodia. Their objective was to invade Vietnam from the south with the KR to engage the VN military while they launch a surprise attack from the north which failed miserably. Why do you think so many of the "advisors" of the Chinese were arrested after VN defeated the KR? The KR were equipped and trained by China to kill its own people and do their dirty work. I can't believe how ignorant some of you are of your own history. For the record, my father is Cambodia and my mother is Vietnamese. We were very close to being one of the KR's victims and were very fortunate to have lived through this period of time.
