PHNOM PENH — Viet Nam and Cambodia will continue to work closely to prevent drug trafficking across their common border.
This was announced during the talks between
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Chairman of the National
Steering Committee for Drug, AIDS and Prostitution Prevention and
Control, and his Cambodian counterpart, General Ke Kim Yan, in Phnom
Penh yesterday.
During the talks, the two Deputy PMs said co-operation between the two countries had been increasing in all fields.
Ke Kim Yan said he was grateful to the Vietnamese
Party, Government, Army and people for their immense assistance to
Cambodian people in escaping from a genocidal regime and rebuilding
their country.
Phuc and Ke Kim Yan, who is also President of the
Cambodian National Agency for Drug Prevention and Control, exchanged
information on the fight against drugs, especially in educating the
community and youngsters on their impact.
They proposed ways of strengthening these ties by focusing on exchanging delegations to discuss the drug problem.
On Tuesday, Phuc had a meeting with Cambodian Standing Deputy Prime Minister, Men Som An. — VNS
