A group of Cambodian workers were ambushed and shot by another Cambodian group while traveling on a Nongplalai road. Two men were shot and one later died in the hospital. Police suspect a previous conflict between the groups sparked the deadly attack.[How come whenever Cambodians were killed in Thailand, the crime was always committed by Cambodians? Is it possible that Thai gangsters or Thai robbers killed them?]

PATTAYA – August 6, 2012 [PDN]; At 12:30 a.m., the Sawang Boriboon foundation in Pattaya reported a fatal shooting to Pol. Maj. Capt. Sutep Petcharee, officer on duty of Banglamung police station. Foundation staff members had brought two wounded men to the hospital, where one later died.

The dead person was identified as Mr. Lin, 22, a Cambodian. He was hit by an unknown sized bullet in his right hip buried deep in the wound. The other shooting victim was Mr. Nga, 20, also Cambodian. He was hit by a bullet of unknown caliber on his right thigh buried in the wound. Both men also had black and blue bruises on their faces
Police went to check the crime scene at soi Nongkedyai 7, moo 1 Nongplalai, Banglamung, Chonburi. They found traces of fighting, with blood stains and pieces of bloodstained clothing lying on the road. Police found an iron axe dropped in grassland by the roadside.
There was also a track of blood more than a 100 meters long, as if a human body had been dragged to bury. But when someone saw what was happening, the people dragging the body apparently fled.
A police investigation revealed that the Cambodian victims worked in a plastic factory near the crime scene. When the incident occurred, the two shooting victims and their friends were returning home from traveling. They were suddenly ambushed by a group of Cambodian workers assumed to be their enemies, who fired at them. The people in the traveling group all scattered to escape the shots.
Police examining the scene made a report in the daily record for evidence. After initial investigation, police believe the ambush is due to some previous conflict or dispute between the alien workers. Police are continuing their investigation to find the real cause.
