Civil society spend about $500 million a year on Cambodia's national development

Cambodia, 30 August 2012 (The Cambodia Herald) - Civil society groups spend about $500 million a year on Cambodia's national development, according to a two-day conference on good governance and cooperation.

The conference, which started Wednesday, released a statement saying that civil society was important for efficiency and evaluating social and political processes.

The statement also said that civil groups were ready to work with the government to improve development and human rights.
