Casinos are 'secret strategy' to protect Cambodia: PM [People won't be fooled by you, Hun Sen. Casinos are only built in a few towns like Poipet, Pailin along the more than 300 kilometres with Thailand and in Bavet and Kampot along the more than 1200 kilometres of border with Vietnam. How can they protect the border?]

PHNOM PENH, Aug 9, 2012 (AFP) - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Thursday said allowing the construction of a spate of border casinos was part of a "secret strategy" to protect the country's territory from its neighbours.
"I don't like casinos, but the biggest goal for giving permission to build casinos is to protect the border," he told parliament during a five-hour speech addressing border demarcation issues with Vietnam.
"One can remove border markers, but one can't remove five-storey hotels. Don't be stupid," Hun Sen said, in response to opposition criticism that the gambling dens were harmful to the country.

Cambodia's border with Vietnam and Thailand is dotted with dozens of casinos and accompanying hotels catering mostly to foreign gamblers since Cambodians are not legally allowed to gamble.
"You force me to talk about it. This should be a secret strategy to protect the nation," the strongman premier said in typically feisty fashion.
Hun Sen used the marathon address, which was broadcast live on television, to deny long-standing claims from the main opposition party that his government was allowing Vietnam to encroach on Cambodian territory.
Cambodia and Vietnam officially began demarcating their 1,270-kilometre (790-mile) border in September 2006 after decades of territorial disputes stemming from French colonial times.
According to Hun Sen some 700 kilometres have been demarcated so far.

LOL; Thank PM HS ! Why the dummy me could'nt think of
the best way to set border markers is to build Casinos
on the spots like you did ?!!! You are genius,or I rather
say, your advisor who prompted you to say that is genius,
give him/her a raise would you!?.

Now,you said that the Yuons owe us more land than we
owe them !?
Oh man ! I just can't waite to see when they will return
those land to us !!!
My poor logic, Sir, it tells me that if they owe us
that much, then we do not have to cede our land to them at
all and yet they still owe us but just a little less !!!

Sir! you made my day, a good laugh and your bad lies
are all I need today !!!

Well there is unwritten rules, when one country won a war they will get something in return for withdrawing. This what Youn do to Cambodia. UN is a paper tiger they will act only if the situation effect more nations. In this case Cambodia losing her land border and sea border areas are insignificant to world benefits. In other words we are nothing to the UN. Hun Sen don't want to hand out land and sea to Youn but he had because our armed forces are Youn control.
