Agree with the articles above, except the comparison between Israel and
Palestine. I believe the U.S will not give Hanoi the same preferential
treatments like it did with the Israeli, because the Israeli are European people and many

The U.S will not help Cambodia get back
lost islands and border areas, but America will help keep Cambodia fully
independent and provide full liberty if Cambodia fully sided with Uncle Sam. Right
now, the Royal Cambodian Government is following ex-King Norodom Sihanouk's
policies of the 1950s, 60s and early 70's - ONE FOOT IN AND ANOTHER FOOT
OUT. These policies had disastrous consequences for us, resulting in almost 2 million dead.
In my opinion, we must side with the U.S. Right now
America seemed weaker than China, but America is still the world's only military
superpower. America's economy will not stay weak very long. She has a lot
more powerful nations on her side, like the European Union, Central American
nations, many rich Middle Eastern countries. If there is a confrontation between China
and the U.S.A, America will win economically or militarily.

Do we Khmer have a lot of trustefull Khmer born work inside the US governmen ?
We until today have only one or two Khmer born has or had a very higher or leading position in the US Governement.

Everything is depending on how the US wanted. However, as you drive across town by town in the US, there are at least one Vietnamese Pho.

Have you been follow Khmer politics. King Sihanouk had been down this road before and 1/4 of our Khmer brothers killed. We are much smaller than Youn and Siam and so we really need helps from a much powerful nation such as U. S and may be China.
I agreed that there are a lot more Youn in U. S than us and they are more higher educated and wealthy than Khmers. I don't think most Youn in America hated Hanoi regime, they are anti-communist. In reality America DO NOT make policies base on her population opinions. Look at Iraq and Afghanistan wars, most peoples are against war. Cambodia still has a lot to offer America. If you side with U. S fully she will keep her other ally in check. Where as PRC they will not interfered with others country policies even if that country violated other.

Hey, did you know most Vietnamese in America still hated Hanoi regime. They will not help Khmers but they will not help communist regime in Hanoi. Am sure you understand well the word bilateral understanding between 2 countries.
You are only able to work side by side with someone, when both sign agreement and have understanding-trust each other well.
In some cases the historical and political understanding, also economical play a great impact between the 2 countries.
Someone said, the US hated Hanoi regime. But, don't you forget about World War II between the US and Japan. Japan was the enemy of the US.

Likewise, the word "enemy" or "ally" is gathered around the word "benefit".
Likewise, Cambodia can be ally with the US. However, I believe Vietnamese is very good at persuading people. French was a good example during colonizing Cambodia. Cambodia need to be vigilant with Vietnamese trick.

U.S forces bombed, ground invasion border areas because Sihanouk made a deal with Ho Chi Minh to allow North Vietnamese regulars troops and Viet Congs used our country border as sanctuaries areas to escape into Cambodia after they ambushed U.S forces. This was why American bombed our border areas. Youn had spies within South Vietnamese units working for American to warn VC before U.S planes arrived to bomb them. So American didn't knew and Khmer peoples ended up the victims of U. S B-52 bombers. You need to know WHY Khmers were killed. Youn clever plans, they found many ways to get Khmers killed. Their leaders were smarter, competent than our leaders.
Well, whatever the Vietnamese communist said, but all Khmer brothers and sisters must be remembered one thing that Ho Chi Minh who had created a civil war in Cambodia and caused Khmer killed each other. Youn-Hanoi has been tried too hard to bring Cambodian government involving in the South China Sea matter against China. Remembered, Hanoi had been used this dirty trick to steal Kampuchea's land and killed Cambodian people for many decades now. Khmers should NOT forget this. Khmers should think about Kampuchea krom who lived under control of Youn's regime.
