In
the Know question:
Are there any great Cambodian restaurants in London?
Answer:
Believe it or not, Lemongrass
on Royal College Street in Camden, calls itself the only Cambodian
restaurant in London. The restaurant is the hub for the Khmer community in
London and the only place to get an authentic fish amok, the Cambodian
national dish.
Hidden away from Camden's main drag, it is not hugely glamorous and the
setting is unassuming. But Lemongrass has a welcoming vibe and it's the real
deal, claiming to serve Cambodia's best with a French Colonial taste.
It serves a fantastic lok luk [Lok Lak] fillet steak and offers a wide range of sides and starters, including some dangerously good deep fried prawns and a zingy mango salad. The flambéed banana fritters are unexpectedly good for an after-dinner treat.
