Soda Nita starts charity for poor, orphans and fading stars




PHNOM PENH, 15 July 2012 (Cambodia Herald) -Soda Nita has returned to the entertainment industry in a new position as master of ceremonies for the "Sonerch Tampum" (Village Fun) program on CTN.

In addition to her television work, the 28-year-old actress has started her own charity, the Soda Nita Fund for the Poor, Orphans and Elderly Entertainers. 

"I want to do social work," she says. "I'm still young so I have to start this charity. But I alone can’t help so many people so I need support."

Soda Nita said the charity would also help victims of traffic accidents and children receiving medical treatment at Kantha Bopha Hospital.


"Kantha Bopha Hospital is facing a financial crisis and although we cannot help with a huge a amount of funds, we can still share our care and a little money," she says.

Soda Nita has starred in more ten movies including "Sayan Sne" (Afternoon Love), "Toror Seb Pdach Broleng 009" (009 Killing Call) and "Pa Chus Chivit Yuvavey" (Teen Life) which have been broadcast by CTN and Bayon.

She has also featured in music videos for local and international production companies, and has traveled widely. "When I was working as an MC at Bayon TV, I went to China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Korea," she says.
