Public Forum on Human Rights and
Development for families affected by clearing farm land and illegal logging
from concessional company in Prah Vihear Province.
The Cambodian Center for Human Rights
(CCHR) requests the participation of interested national and international
stakeholders in a Public Forum on Human Rights and Development at Saang Village,
Saang Commune, Chhay Sen District, Prah Vihear Province from 8:00 am to 12:00am
on 12 July, 2012.
Over more than hundred families have
been diversely affected by the destructive forces of agro-business and rampant
illegal logging in district, where over more than hundred hectares of farm and forestry
land size are being destroying. They are very concerned about those anarchy
actions causing lost natural resource and their farmland in the short time a
head.
The Public Forum on Human Rights and
Development will provide families with the opportunity to raise their concerns,
issues, ask questions, and express opinions to parliamentarians, local
authorities, national and international organization, and other stakeholders
who are concerned about the potential issues and desire peaceful resolution.
